Inside our “Le Grand Siècle” hotel, come and taste the finest dishes on Louis XIV’s royal buffet!

Take a seat at the Tables des Ambassadeurs, for an experience right at the heart of the Sun King’s flamboyant world! In Puy du Fou’s Cité Nocturne, this restaurant with lavish and luminous decoration will take you back in time, thanks to the especially designed menu. The rich and varied dishes on the all-you-can-eat buffet are presented in 6 courses, that the whole family will love. Traditional “oille” stew, "oeuf couronné” (boiled egg “crowned” with mayonnaise), French-style peas or the “chocolat de la Reine” (Queen’s chocolate): from the starter to the dessert, discover all the royal tastes of the 17th century!

FIRST COURSE The big starters

  • Oille soup - served hot
  • Finely diced kitchen garden vegetables stew or the King's kitchen garden - served cold
  • Cream of peas and curd

SECOND COURSE Starters

  • Fish terrine with vegetables
  • Crowned egg
  • Leek with ravigote dressing in jelly
  • The big green salad
  • Warm green bean, mojette bean and Parmesan salad
  • Charcuterie (cold meats): Brioche style sausage and Madeira sauce, Chicken galantine with mushrooms, Rabbit and rosemary pate

THIRD COURSE Roasts in rotation

  • Stuffed and roasted veal breast - tomato and olive sauce
  • Stuffed and Roasted Lamb
  • Shoulder - thyme gravy
  • Stuffed and roasted poultry - full-bodied gravy

FOURTH COURSE Vegetable dishes

  • Mushrooms and root vegetable stew
  • Celery mousseline
  • Roasted potatoes, garlic and shallots in their skins
  • Creamed rice
  • Fresh Peas with bacon and basil

FIFTH COURSE Cheeses

  • Fresh goats cheese with herbs, honey roasted hazelnuts
  • Fromage blanc with honey or cherry compote with spices
  • Vendée cheese, with dried fruits and nuts
