For families

Right at the heart of Puy du Fou’s century-old forest, the “Val de la Marienne” is a real haven of peace among the oak trees, ferns, aquatic plants and waterfalls. Just pause for a moment and enjoy the peace-and-quiet of this green area. Several times a day, a fog sweeps over the valley and reveals little by little, the splendour of this garden bathed in sunlight. You’ll be able to discover a number of plant varieties there, some of them wild, domestic, exotic or the local ones.

A century-old forest

Since the park first opened in 1989, the haven of peace known as the “Val de la Marienne” has been blooming. Thanks to the patient and passionate work from our gardeners and landscape gardeners, this green area with a stream running through it, has become a poetic place to come and cool off in the summer. Around some large water features, this green area has been progressively filled with new plants and flowers that have even spread out to the surrounding banks. Today, there are more than 250 varieties of plants, mainly perennials, and the spectacular giant rhubarb which grows in the middle of the “Val de la Marienne”.

The Val de la Marienne throughout the seasons

Whatever the season, the “Val de la Marienne” is worth a visit! In the Spring, come and breathe in the sweet scent of the plants and listen to the birds singing. In the Summer, come here to escape the heat and enjoy the cool waters. In the Autumn, admire the warm colours of the leaves up in the huge trees.
