Our story
For more than 40 years, Puy du Fou has told its story and retold history.

1978
The first Cinéscénie performance takes place on the 16th June, performed by more than 600 members of the Puy du Fou association, who are known as the ‘Puyfolais’. The spellbound public applaud the actors and more than 80,000 visitors are enthralled during the first year.

1989
In order to cope with the success of Cinéscénie, which was attracting increasing numbers of visitors, the ‘Puyfolais’ decide to create Puy du Fou’s Grand Parc. This innovative daytime attraction brings together culture and leisure, fun and education, spectacle and emotion.

1998
The Junior Academy is founded to train Puy du Fou’s artists and technicians of the future. It now teaches 30 artistic and theatre technology disciplines and takes 600 pupils each year.

2007
Puy du Fou is becoming a destination in its own right, with the construction of the first themed hotel: The Gallo-Roman Villa. Today, Puy du Fou has 5 hotels, each devoted to a different period in history, from Ancient Rome to the 18th Century.

2010
Created in 2010, Puy du Fou International advises project managers in the creation of parks and shows worldwide, based on the Puy du Fou model, to export the park's concept.

2015
In 2015, in tandem with State Education, Puy du Fou launched its own primary school combining academic training with the practice of the arts. This original school - open to everyone - aims to pass on Puy du Fou's expertise from a young age through performing arts training, and count this year 160 pupils, from kindergarten to sixth grade.

2019
Puy du Fou open Puy du Fou España in Toledo and present the great nightshow dedicated to Spanish History : "El Sueño de Toledo".
