L'Allée des Volières
In the area surrounding the “"Bal des Oiseaux Fantômes” show, come and meet the 640 birds of prey in our aviary!
After seeing our star birds performing their majestic ballet in the “Le Bal des Oiseaux Fantômes” show, you can come and take a closer look at them in the “L’Allée des Volières”. Kites, eagles, buzzards, pelicans, condors, etc. There are so many birds to see in their aviaries, perfectly blended into the natural environment. These habitats were built made-to-measure, to adapt to the biggest birds of prey, so that they can live, fly and reproduce there. Our falconers work hard every day to ensure the well-being of these birds of prey of 78 different species, as well as their reproduction and when the time comes, reintroducing them into the wild.
Falconry at Puy du Fou is a world reference among specialist bird of prey centres. This is the biggest falconry centre in Europe, working towards protecting the environment by getting involved in various conservation programmes. The protection of endangered species, supporting charities, reintroducing certain species back into the wild, are just some examples of the many promises made by Puy du Fou. Our team of 36 falconers look after around a hundred birds every day, and take care of approximately 100 births a year. You can come and see what they do by booking your “Voyage au Coeur de la Fauconnerie” experience, if you’re staying in one of our hotels!
Education as a priority
For those who would like to find out more about the birds in our aviaries, there are instructive information panels along the alleys. You’ll find a presentation of the species, their habitat and the food they eat, to learn about our great birds! Children can also compare themselves to the birds of prey by measuring their own wingspan!
